We're a bunch of hardcore DNS geeks so you don't need to be one.
We're also business people and we know how much downtime hurts.

Built on open-source software
Why re-invent the wheel? All the core components of Dynect are built on open-source foundations. This means the software Dynect runs on has been reviewed by countless eyes, tried and tested by the IT community, already runs most of the core DNS infrastructure, and has been improved for years by talented specialists.
All the Dynect servers run hardened FreeBSD installations and the BIND domain name server, created in 1998 and widely considered the gold standard in domain name serving. That means your company can use the very same tools that power the largest, most critical networks on the Internet, technologies that are here to stay and are worth investing upon.
With open source underpinnings and easy export options, Dynect will not lock you into any proprietary system. Your Dynect Concierge will even help you export your data and provide guidance on the best transition options.

A globally redundant network
You know how every DNS company touts their network as state-of-the-art? They may be right but until their network is spread across the globe and carefully put together, it could still go down at moment's notice. Dynect is housed in six data centers on three continents, meaning even large-scale catastrophes are unlikely to affect it.
All our network locations are housed in top-tier data centers, featuring the best in connectivity, physical security and cooling. Our staff monitors hardware 24/7 and can interact with data center operators at any time to perform any maintenance tasks that may be required, in a jiffy.
With so many variables, network components can fail at any moment: hard drives die, batteries burn out, even UPSs trip and let the power go down. That is where the network structure itself comes into play, ensuring the load is smoothly and automatically transferred to other servers so that no downtime is witnessed by users.

Monitored all the way, all the time
Over the past ten years, we have developed a custom monitoring system that relies on both human surveillance and automated detection. Scripts and routers detect bottlenecks, slowdowns and prevent issues from happening by automatically redirecting traffic to healthy network segments. Administrators look at statistics, test servers and listen to their pagers attentively, day and night. That's how our monitoring has both brains and speed and how we have managed to keep our DNS up and available since 2001, even in the face of large-scale distributed denial-of-service attacks.

Use on any platform at any time
While Dynect's underpinnings are as robust and geeky as it gets, its control interface is smooth sailing. Our custom web-based front- end allows you to manage your DNS on virtually any web-enabled, standards-compliant device, from workstations to modern telephones. What's more, our flexible notification options mean administrators no longer need to be tied down to bulky and noisy pagers, without sacrificing response times. Our interfaces are built upon XHTML/CSS standards. No plugins or platform-specific software is required to make use of it.

Anycast DNS for global speed and reliability
Dynect's globally redundant network is reinforced by the power of Anycast DNS. Anycast is a routing scheme ensuring data is routed to the best location, as determined by the network setup. By tweaking carriers, bandwidth and geographic location, we reduce latency to an absolute minimum and ensure the network always works "just right" wherever you are and however you connect to it.

Fantastically fast for everyone
You can fine-tune your site as much as you want but it won't help much if your DNS is slow. Our geographically distributed network, our dedicated servers (they do DNS and nothing but DNS) and state-of-the-art routers ensure packets flow as freely as they possibly can, resulting in fast response times and fast updates, for the ultimate end-user experience.
